Pierson Hozza made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over 4.2 innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Horizon got a big performance out of Lexi Nolen, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Hannah Felker was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Horizon kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain Pointe only managed four hits.

Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 11-15. As for Horizon, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
