Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Haskell walked away with it. They were the clear victors by a 28-1 margin over the West Texas Comanches on Friday. The Indians' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Paige Sheets made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 5-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those five hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Brynlee Stocks was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kayce Coleman, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI.

Haskell was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .625. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The victory was the ninth in a row for Haskell, bringing their record up to 19-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for West Texas, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-8-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Haskell beat the Comanches by a score of 28-1 later that day.
