Football Game Preview: Coleman Cougars vs. Manawa Wolves

Coleman has gone a perfect 5-0 against Manawa recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Wolves at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Coleman will roll into the contest after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up eight points last Friday, then bounced right back against Northland Pines on Friday. The Cougars blew past the Eagles 44-7. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 28 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Coleman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kolton Peters, who rushed for 166 yards on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Wyatt Bieber, who rushed for 105 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only 11 carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Coleman was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 394 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northland Pines only rushed for 156.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Manawa). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Clintonville 41-8.

Coleman pushed their record up to 5-2 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for Manawa, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.

Everything came up roses for Coleman against Manawa when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 41-6 victory. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
