Baseball Recap: Kent School Comes Up Short

Kent School had lost 11 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 0-7 to make it 12. They came up short against the Choate Rosemary Hall School Wild Boars, falling 10-0. The Lions were not able to make up for their defeat to the Wild Boars from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

As for Choate Rosemary Hall School, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games.

For Choate Rosemary Hall School's part, Nate Kempton made a splash while hitting and pitching. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Those seven strikeouts gave Kempton a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other pitching news, Shane McKenna looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, Henry Ogeneski was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gianni Vora, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.
