The biggest upset of the week belonged to Pope John Paul II, who took down 182nd ranked Pope John Paul II, 50-43.

Springfield extended the longest winning streak in 2A District 8 this week by beating Aquinas, 28-20. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Bulldogs.

Northlake Christian's dynamic duo of Josh O'Rear and Will Sigl proved tough for St. Helena Central to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. O'Rear threw for 64 yards and one touchdown and Sigl had 22 yards receiving. Gary Sampson helped Northlake Christian's passing attack out by catching two balls for 18 yards.

Shaquille Smith was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 115 yards on 15 carries as Springfield topped the Hawks. Gharmaine Ashton also contributed to the rushing game with 110 yards on the ground.

Northlake Christian's O'Rear and Dane Landry have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. O'Rear has thrown for 1289 yards this season, while Landry, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 27 catches for 538 yards. Pine's Derrick Dillion leads the league in rushing yards with 1007.

The Raiders made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 9,358 from 9,902. The advance stemmed from a 50-43 victory over the Jaguars last week.
