Volleyball Recap: Pickens Academy Beats Breakthrough Charter for Their Third Straight Win + How To Watch

Pickens Academy had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Breakthrough Charter with a sharp 3-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on Monday.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Pickens Academy took every set by at least ten points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-15, 25-14.

Pickens Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lillie Shirley out in front who had seven aces. Those seven aces gave Shirley a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Craker, who had five aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Pickens Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in three consecutive matchups.

Pickens Academy's record now sits at 6-9. As for Breakthrough Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

As of now, neither Pickens Academy nor Breakthrough Charter have any future games scheduled.
