Football Recap: Merino Comes Up Short

Merino extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 3-5. They were outmatched by the Sedgwick County Cougars and fell 52-6. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-6.

As for Sedgwick County, their win bumped their record up to 4-2. The game marked their most dominant victory of the season.

Owen Harris produced another solid performance rushing for 163 yards and three TDs on only ten carries. He didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble and made 12 total tackles (2.0 for loss). Brady Mollendor was another key rusher, rushing for 152 yards and three touchdowns on only nine carries.

Coincidentally, Merino and Sedgwick County will both be playing Akron the next time they take the field. The Cougars will head out to face the Rams at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Rams will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
