Davis County took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Cardinal, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs had just enough and edged out the Comets 3-2 on Thursday. The victory was nothing new for the Mustangs as they're now sitting on three straight.

Davis County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-8. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Cardinal, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 11-4 record.
