Softball Game Preview: Bremen Lions vs. Jimtown Jimmies

The Bremen Lions will face off against the Jimtown Jimmies at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither Bremen nor Jimtown posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Bremen blew Rochester out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Rochester got their revenge. The Lions fell just short of the Zebras by a score of 2-0.

Chrissy Grabowski spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Jimtown unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Varsity Opponent.

Jimtown also let their pitcher toss all seven innings and she was also dialed-in: Lilly Gaugler gave up just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

At the plate, Skyler Pello made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Bremen's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Jimtown, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Bremen was able to grind out a solid win over Jimtown when the teams last played back in April of 2024, winning 15-11. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Jimmies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
