Baseball Recap: East Ridge Comes Up Short

East Ridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 12-2 to the Apopka Blue Darters, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 9-6 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

East Ridge saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Haisum Osuna, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

East Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Apopka, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-6.

Coming up, East Ridge will challenge Cornerstone Charter Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Apopka, they will square off against Wekiva at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Apopka's pitchers better be ready for this one: Wekiva has averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
