Football Recap: Sam Krug Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Coudersport

The Brookville Raiders got the win against the Coudersport Falcons on Friday by a conclusive 41-20. With the Raiders ahead 41-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Brookville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sam Krug, who rushed for 136 yards and one score on only 13 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenton Colgan, who threw for 111 yards and four touchdowns on only ten passes.

Brookville's run defense was locked in: Coudersport could only muster 2.4 yards per carry. While six picked up at least one total tackle, Krug stood above the rest. He rushed for 136 yards and one TD on only 13 carries. Brookville didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 5.6.

The win made it two in a row for Brookville and bumps their season record up to 2-4. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points over those games. As for Coudersport, they dropped their record down to 1-5 with the loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Brookville will square off against Port Allegany at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will need to watch out since the Gators have now posted at least 31 points in their last three games. As for Coudersport, they will take on Smethport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
