Soccer Game Preview: Cerritos vs. Artesia

Cerritos hasn't had much luck against Artesia recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Cerritos Dons will venture away from home to face off against the Artesia Pioneers.

Cerritos is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to eight goals on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Pioneer on Friday. They fell just short of the Titans by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Dons came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Titans are ranked 712th).

Meanwhile, Artesia hasn't lost a match since January 4th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Saturday. They came out on top against Animo Leadership by a score of 3-1.

Artesia is also on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-2-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those five games. As for Cerritos, they suffered their first home loss, dropping their record down to 7-3-3.
