Basketball Recap: Duluth Comes Up Short

Duluth lost against Parkview back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Duluth Wildcats lost 71-49 to the Parkview Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 341st, while the Panthers are ranked 140th).

Despite the loss, Duluth still got an impressive performance from Kaylie Zirger, who posted 16 points and four steals. Zirger has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played.

Kennedi Benton continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Parkview, going 10 of 24 en route to 29 points. Those 29 points gave Benton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Cooper, who went 5 for 12 on her way to 13 points.

Duluth has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Parkview, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Duluth has already played their next game, a 42-26 victory against Peachtree Ridge on the 17th. As for Parkview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 60-53 defeat against Brookwood on the 17th.
