Hillcrest's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Stansbury Stallions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Huskies have posted since August 21st.

Hillcrest had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 28-26, 15-12.

Nola Bonner paced Hillcrest's offense, picking up 11 kills. Bonner got some help from Jane Thomas and her 15 assists. Thomas was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Hillcrest's win bumped their record up to 7-8. As for Stansbury, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.

Hillcrest wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Judge Memorial Catholic on the 20th. As for Stansbury, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Ogden on the 19th.
