Baseball Recap: Carlisle's Losing Streak Snapped at Nine Games

Carlisle not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 27th. They put the hurt on the Waskom Wildcats with a sharp 11-1 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak.

Carlisle got a massive performance out of Preston Armstrong, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3. Those two stolen bases gave Armstrong a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brandon Garza, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Carlisle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Carlisle's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 5-14. As for Waskom, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.

Carlisle will have a chance to go back-to-back against Waskom: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
