Basketball Recap: Summit Charter Comes Up Short

On Wednesday, the Summit Charter Bears had to suffer through a 76-47 loss at the hands of the Swain County Maroon Devils. The Bears have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the defeat, Summit Charter had strong showings from August Stewart-Payne, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 17 points, and Chance Wilson, who went 6 of 13 en route to 16 points. Wilson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Summit Charter's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Swain County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.

Summit Charter will welcome Andrews at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Andrews will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Summit Charter surely won't give up without a fight. As for Swain County, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 67-59 defeat against Highlands on the 9th.
