Linden waltzed into their match on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They blew past the Riverbank Bruins 14-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-1 last Friday.
Cambel Dunn tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high.
On the hitting side, Millee Holguin was a standout: she scored five runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Olivia Fears, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
Linden always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Riverbank only posted an OBP of .296.
Linden's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.8 runs over those games. As for Riverbank, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-14-1.
