Iola-Scandinavia lost to Waupaca back in May of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Thunderbirds put the hurt on the Comets with a sharp 16-6 victory. The result was nothing new for the Thunderbirds, who have now won seven games by six runs or more so far this season.

Maggie Maus was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Charlotte Isermann also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Iola-Scandinavia hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive matchups.

Iola-Scandinavia now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Waupaca, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-18.

Iola-Scandinavia has already played their next contest, a 13-3 defeat against Marathon on the 17th. Hopefully Waupaca paid attention to the Thunderbirds' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Thunderbirds at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
