Softball Recap: Liberty Patriots vs. Centennial Bulldogs
Liberty had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 13-8-2 to make it four. They fell just short of the Centennial Bulldogs by a score of 9-8. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 5-2.
Liberty got a massive performance out of Presley Crowder, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Jaydah Chun was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.8 runs over those games.
On Centennial's side, Madden Turner was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Hailey Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Liberty does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Centennial, they will challenge Green Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
