Volleyball Game Preview: Bishop DuBourg Cavaliers vs. Affton Cougars

Bishop DuBourg hasn't had much luck against Affton recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cavaliers will look to defend their home court against the Cougars at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Bishop DuBourg is headed into Friday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Collegiate Medicine & Bioscience.

Bishop DuBourg actually scored more points across those five sets (103-101), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 16-25, 20-25, 25-21, 15-12.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Affton faced off against Mehlville on Thursday. The Cougars lost 3-0 to the Panthers. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

While Affton had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-20, 25-19.

Affton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5-1. As for Bishop DuBourg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.

Bishop DuBourg might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Affton in their previous meeting last Thursday. Can the Cavaliers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
