Basketball Recap: Calvary Temple Sets Scoring Season-High Against Evergreen Christian

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calvary Temple). They took down the Evergreen Christian Eagles 57-38 on Friday. The win was a breath of fresh air for Calvary Temple as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Despite the loss, Evergreen Christian had strong showings from Adriana Jenkins, who posted eight points and three steals, and Maddie Wivell, who earned eight points in addition to five rebounds and four steals. That's the most steals Jenkins has posted since back in December of 2024. Malia Morris was another key player, putting up six points.

The victory got Calvary Temple back to even at 3-3. As for Evergreen Christian, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season.

Calvary Temple and Evergreen Christian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings. Calvary Temple will square off against Seton at 5:15 p.m. on February 10th down 158 places (195 vs. 37). Meanwhile, Evergreen Christian (ranked 179th) will meet Riverdale Baptist (ranked third) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
