Basketball Recap: Arroyo Comes Up Short

Arroyo's tournament run continued when they took on Gateway on Monday. The Arroyo Dons fell just short of the Gateway Gators by a score of 62-59. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (55), the Dons still had to take the loss.

Arroyo's defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Gateway, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arroyo will challenge Mission San Jose at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Mission San Jose knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Arroyo likes a good challenge. As for Gateway, they will be playing at home against Lick-Wilmerding at 6:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
