Soccer Game Preview: Turner Ashby vs. East Rockingham

The Turner Ashby Knights will take on the East Rockingham Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. East Rockingham took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Turner Ashby, who comes in off a win.

While Turner Ashby's victory against Rockbridge County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Knights sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Wildcats on Tuesday. Turner Ashby haven't had any issues with Rockbridge County recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, East Rockingham was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Broadway, falling 5-0.

Turner Ashby pushed their record up to 4-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored eight goals over those three matchups. As for East Rockingham, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything went Turner Ashby's way against East Rockingham in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Turner Ashby made off with a 4-0 win. Do the Knights have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
