Softball Preview: Wylie Pirates vs. Naaman Forest Rangers

Wylie is 8-0 against Naaman Forest since March of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Wylie Pirates will head out on the road to take on the Naaman Forest Rangers at 6:30 p.m. Wylie will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.

Wylie put the finishing touches on their 15th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand Wylie East a 6-0 shutout.

Meanwhile, Naaman Forest came into Wednesday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They were the clear victor by a 21-1 margin over South Garland. The win was just what Naaman Forest needed coming off of a 20-0 loss in their prior game.

Caitlyn Way looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned run off one hit (she also didn't allow any walks).

On the hitting side, Mia Quintero was incredible, going 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gladys Ayozie, who scored two runs and stole four bases while going 1-for-2.

Wylie pushed their record up to 25-7-1 with that victory, which was their 11th straight at home. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 12.4 runs. As for Naaman Forest, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-14.
