Pioneer had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Wood on Monday. The Patriots put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 3-0 win. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Pioneer took every set by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-12.

Alyssa Robinson paced Pioneer's offense, picking up 11 kills. Robinson got some help from Marisa Bryson and her 12 assists. Bryson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Pioneer's record is now 21-10. As for Wood, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
