Softball Recap: Beallsville Comes Up Short

If Beallsville was feeling good fresh off their 21-2 takedown of Paden City on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Blue Devils fell just short of the Valley Lumberjacks by a score of 4-2 on Thursday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 5-3 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2019.

Karly Showalter was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

Beallsville now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Valley, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beallsville will venture away from home to take on Union Local at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Valley, they will head out to challenge Williamstown at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Lumberjacks are facing the Yellowjackets at the right time seeing as the Yellowjackets are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
