Fort Cherry takes down Redbank Valley in a playoff battle

Recap: Fort Cherry Rangers vs. Redbank Valley Bulldogs

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Fort Cherry Rangers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 33-23. Fort Cherry's win was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.

It was another big night for Matt Sieg, who rushed for 258 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. Sieg hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Ethan Faletto, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown.

Redbank Valley's loss came despite strong showings from Braylon Wagner and Ashton Kahle. Wagner threw for 301 yards and three touchdowns, while Kahle picked up 132 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Kahle was no stranger to the big play, connecting with a big catch that went for 68 yards.

Fort Cherry's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-0. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 29.56 points. As for Redbank Valley, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2.

Fort Cherry will take on Steelton-Highspire at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Steelton-Highspire is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Redbank Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
