Basketball Recap: Bradley Vaughn's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wakulla over Leon

Wakulla lost against Leon back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The match between the Wakulla War Eagles and the Leon Lions didn't end well, with the Wakulla War Eagles falling 71-54.

Several War Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bradley Vaughn, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Vaughn is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: he's pulled down at least nine every time he's taken the court this season. Jaylen Jones was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Aaron Pensel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Leon, going 6 of 10 on his way to 19 points along with six boards and five blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of DeKendrick Williams, who went 5 of 12 on his way to 14 points and seven rebounds.

Wakulla dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Leon, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Wakulla didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-40 defeat against St. John Paul II on the 12th. As for Leon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-55 win against Chiles on the 6th.
