Baseball Recap: Lighthouse Private Christian Academy's Win on Thursday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lighthouse Private Christian Academy). They put the hurt on the Pine Forest Eagles with a sharp 17-2 win on Thursday. With that victory, the Stingrays brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.

Ezekiel Rycroft made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Rycroft was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

In other batting news, Lighthouse Private Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Noah Polk, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Polk a new career-high in RBI (two). David Chapellin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .759. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

The win was the fourth in a row for Lighthouse Private Christian Academy, bringing their record for this year to 6-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs over those games. As for Pine Forest, their loss was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Coming up, Lighthouse Private Christian Academy will head out to challenge Booker T. Washington at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pine Forest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Choctawhatchee at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The game will give Pine Forest their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
