Volleyball Recap: Marion County Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Marion County waltzed into their contest on Thursday with four straight wins... but they left with five. Everything went their way against the Washington County Commanders as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Knights have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Commanders, too.

While Marion County won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the third set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-14, 25-23.

Addison Jones paced Marion County's offense, picking up nine kills. Jones got some help from Lexi Hall and her 25 assists. Addison Garrett controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.

Marion County's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Washington County, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion County will take on Adair County in a tournament on Tuesday. As for Washington County, they will head out to take on Spencer County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
