After a string of four wins, Oxford Prep's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to the Vance Charter Knights. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Knights this season, with their most recent defeat being a 46-29 loss back in January.

Katherine Suther was a one-woman wrecking crew for Vance Charter as she posted 17 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That's the most steals Suther has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Adanna Aniekwensi, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 12 boards.

Oxford Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Vance Charter, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-6.

Oxford Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-10 loss against Wake Prep Academy on the 25th. As for Vance Charter, they have also already played their next game, a 45-35 defeat against Roxboro Community on the 18th.
