Softball Game Preview: St. Francis DeSales Stallions vs. Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs

The St. Francis DeSales Stallions will head out to challenge the Bloom-Carroll Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Francis DeSales is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

Last Thursday, St. Francis DeSales came up short against Bishop Hartley and fell 11-7.

Meanwhile, Bloom-Carroll never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on Pickerington North with a sharp 11-0 win. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 17 games by seven runs or more this season.

Maddi Walters looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Claire Whitcraft was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Madelyn Gates was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Bloom-Carroll kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits every time they've taken the field this season.

Bloom-Carroll's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for St. Francis DeSales, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
