Basketball Recap: Ja'kye Rawls' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Enterprise over Red Bluff

Enterprise lost against Red Bluff back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Enterprise Hornets fell 54-45 to the Red Bluff Spartans.

Enterprise's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ja'Kye Rawls, who posted 21 points and three steals. Rawls' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Tyler Christiansen was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 11 points.

Even though they lost, Enterprise smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Red Bluff was led to victory by Bryce Owens and Ryan Ross. Owens almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds, while Ross went 5 for 9 en route to 14 points. Those 14 points gave Ross a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cooper Sides, who earned five points.

Enterprise's defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Red Bluff, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-8.

Enterprise wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 63-42 loss against Pleasant Valley on the 4th. As for Red Bluff, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 44-33 defeat against Redding Christian on the 1st.
