The East Rowan Mustangs are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will face off against the North Stanly Comets at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. East Rowan is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 13.2 runs per game this season.

East Rowan will head out to face North Stanly after giving up their first home loss of the season on Tuesday. East Rowan took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central Cabarrus. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Mustangs couldn't push the score so high this time.

East Rowan saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Harrison Ailshie, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI. Kris Hernandez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, North Stanly sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 victory over Carson on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.

North Stanly pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.2 runs over those games. As for East Rowan, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Everything went East Rowan's way against North Stanly in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as East Rowan made off with a 10-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Rowan since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
