Marlington is 9-1 against Alliance since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Marlington Dukes will square off against the Alliance Aviators at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Marlington has four straight wins, Alliance has 19 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Saturday, Marlington strolled past Poland Seminary with points to spare, taking the game 42-24. The Dukes pushed the score to 38-18 by the end of the third, a deficit the Bulldogs cut but never quite recovered from.

Meanwhile, Alliance played a tough match on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 46-13 defeat at the hands of Chaney. While losing is never fun, the Aviators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 719th, while the Cowboys are ranked 193rd).

Alliance's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Marlington, their victory bumped their record up to 7-10.

Everything came up roses for Marlington against Alliance in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 63-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marlington since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
