Softball Game Preview: Homestead Highlanders vs. Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes

The Homestead Highlanders will head out on the road to challenge the Whitefish Bay Blue Dukes at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Homestead came into this matchup off a tough eight-run loss on Monday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Port Washington by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Highlanders have suffered since April 24th.

Homestead saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emmy Sehnert, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Whitefish Bay was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 20-1 to Slinger.

Whitefish Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 6-13. As for Homestead, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season.

Homestead couldn't quite finish off Whitefish Bay in their previous matchup back in April and fell 7-5. Can the Highlanders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
