Volleyball Game Preview: Homewood Patriots vs. Saraland Spartans

The Homewood Patriots will take on the Saraland Spartans at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Homewood heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Friday. They fell 3-1 to Hazel Green. The Patriots' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Saraland made easy work of Northridge on Friday and carried off a 3-0 win.

Saraland's win came from a few key players Homewood will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Taniyah Smith, who had 15 assists and four digs. She has been hot, having posted 12 or more assists the last six times she's played.

Saraland's victory bumped their record up to 35-8. As for Homewood, their defeat dropped their record down to 24-19.

Homewood was able to grind out a solid win over Saraland in their previous matchup back in August, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
