Morgan Spinner spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on two hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Morgen Talley, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Steinbrenner never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against East Bay on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Indians as they made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Warriors have won four matchups by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Kendal Jackson looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Jenna Fortenberry was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of her three plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Luaces, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Steinbrenner always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Bay only posted an OBP of .118.
Calvary Christian's victory bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Steinbrenner, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Calvary Christian has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Steinbrenner struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3.9 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
