Basketball Game Preview: Hewitt-Trussville Huskies vs. Vestavia Hills Rebels

Hewitt-Trussville hasn't had much luck against Vestavia Hills recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Hewitt-Trussville Huskies will square off against the Vestavia Hills Rebels at 7:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Hewitt-Trussville is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Alabama's top teams: Oak Mountain, who was ranked 17th at the time (Hewitt-Trussville was ranked ninth). Hewitt-Trussville took a 58-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Oak Mountain on Tuesday. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Vestavia Hills was beaten by Hoover 76-49 on Tuesday. The defeat continues a trend for the Rebels in their matchups with the Buccaneers: they've now lost four in a row.

Vestavia Hills' loss ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 14-5. As for Hewitt-Trussville, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.

Hewitt-Trussville was taken down by Vestavia Hills 58-30 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Hewitt-Trussville avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
