Baseball Game Preview: San Rafael Bulldogs vs. San Marin Mustangs

For the second straight game, San Rafael will face off against San Marin. The Bulldogs will head out to square off against the Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The last four games San Rafael has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

San Rafael made up a huge gap compared to their last game against San Marin, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

For San Marin's part, Sean McGrath spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on nine hits and racked up 11 Ks. McGrath has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Matthew Baldino was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Trevor Krejdovsky, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

San Marin pushed their record up to 14-7 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for San Rafael, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.
