Softball Recap: Coral Reef Barracudas vs. Palmetto Panthers
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Coral Reef had no problem doing just that on Thursday. They beat the Palmetto Panthers by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 15-0. Considering Coral Reef has won 16 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Chloe Junco was incredible, going 2-for-2 with a home run and five RBI. Another player making a difference was Rachel Hawkins, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
The win (which was Coral Reef's seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-8. As for Palmetto, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.
Coral Reef will stay at home for another game and welcome West Broward at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Coral Reef knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy run totals in its past seven games -- so hopefully West Broward likes a good challenge. Palmetto does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
