Softball Recap: Monticello Starts off Right with Win over Belleville

Monticello took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Belleville Wildcats an 11-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Ponies in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won three in a row.

Belleville is on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monticello will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Johnson Creek at 10:00 a.m. on the 26th. As for Belleville, they will square off against Waterloo at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
