Volleyball Game Preview: Morse Tigers vs. Madison Warhawks

The Morse Tigers will venture away from home to face off against the Madison Warhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Morse got the win against Kearny by a conclusive 3-0. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Komets recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-21, 25-16.

Morse's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jhiovanni Lacosta, who had 15 assists and three aces, and Raymond Nonato, who had 14 assists and three digs. Lacosta is on a roll when it comes to assists, as he's now posted 15 or more in each of the last five games he's played.

Meanwhile, Madison earned a 3-1 victory over San Diego on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Warhawks.

Madison had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-22, 26-24, 25-16.

Madison pushed their record up to 12-10 with the win, which was their third straight at home. As for Morse, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Morse came out on top in a nail-biter against Madison when the teams last played back in March of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
