Williams has gone a perfect 3-0 against St. David recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Vikings will face off against the Tigers at 4:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Williams is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They blew past Anthem Prep 11-2. The victory was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on three straight.

Danika Howe made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up five earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Audrina Baldwin, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sonia Lopez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.
Williams was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They are 10-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, St. David entered their tilt with Ash Fork/Seligman on Wednesday with 12 consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with 13. They were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Spartans. 12 seems to be a good number for the Tigers as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Emelynn Jacquez was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Patton, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
St. David pushed their record up to 20-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Williams, their record is now 15-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Williams has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.6 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like St. David struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Williams beat St. David 9-4 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Vikings since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
