Basketball Game Preview: Crowley County Chargers vs. Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles

The Crowley County Chargers will face off against the Dayspring Christian Academy Eagles on Friday. Crowley County knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Dayspring Christian Academy likes a good challenge.

Last Saturday, Crowley County was able to grind out a solid win over Fowler, taking the game 55-48. The Chargers haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Gunner Hughes was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 24 points and 11 boards. His big performance that afternoon made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Majestic McNeil, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Dayspring Christian Academy came up short against Estes Park on Saturday, falling 55-35.

Despite the loss, Dayspring Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Max Krehbiel posted 12 points along with eight boards and three steals. Another player making a difference was Owen Mcclanahan, who earned six points.

Crowley County's win bumped their record up to 21-2. As for Dayspring Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.
