Basketball Game Preview: Larkin Royals vs. South Elgin Storm

The Larkin Royals will square off against the South Elgin Storm at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. South Elgin took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Larkin, who comes in off a win.

Larkin is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They simply couldn't be stopped two weeks ago as they easily beat Elgin 67-32. The Royals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, South Elgin was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 52-47 to Buffalo Grove.

Larkin is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for South Elgin, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Larkin didn't have too much breathing room in their match against South Elgin when the teams last played back in January of 2024, but they still walked away with a 52-47 victory. Will Larkin repeat their success, or does South Elgin have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
