Volleyball Game Preview: Drake/Anamoose Raiders vs. Velva Aggies

The Drake/Anamoose Raiders will head out to take on the Velva Aggies at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Monday, Drake/Anamoose came up short against Central McLean [Turtle Lake-Mercer/Underwood/McClusky] and fell 3-1. The Raiders have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Velva suffered their biggest loss since October 2nd last Monday. They lost 3-0 to Surrey.

The final score came out to 25-22, 25-23, 25-11.

Drake/Anamoose's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8-1. As for Velva, their loss dropped their record down to 15-12-2.

Drake/Anamoose came out on top in a nail-biter against Velva in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Aggies' Keely Cadwell, who had 22 digs and five assists. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Raiders still be able to contain Cadwell? There's only one way to find out.
