Football Recap: Massena Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against St. Lawrence Central last Friday, Massena came back down to earth. The Raiders were beaten by the Ogdensburg Free Academy Blue Devils 50-6 on Friday. The Raiders were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-6.

Special teams was responsible for all of the team's points. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Rohg Bentley, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Astryn Grenier and Lucca Labella. Grenier rushed for 125 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries while Labella rushed for 110 yards and three scores on only 14 carries.

Having lost for the first time this season, Massena fell to 2-1. As for Ogdensburg Free Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Massena will head out to take on Potsdam at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ogdensburg Free Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Non Varsity Opponent at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
