Basketball Game Preview: Canutillo Eagles vs. Andress Eagles

Canutillo has won six straight games at home, while Andress has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Canutillo Eagles will welcome the Andress Eagles at 7:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Canutillo was able to grind out a solid win over El Paso, taking the game 52-40.

Meanwhile, Andress blew past Jefferson, posting a 66-31 victory. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 257th, while the Silver Foxes are ranked 1209th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Andress has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.7 points per game. As for Canutillo, their win bumped their record up to 18-6.

Canutillo lost to Andress at home by a decisive 78-64 margin in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Can Canutillo avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
