Baseball Game Preview: Springstead Eagles vs. River Ridge Royal Knights

For the second straight game, Springstead will face off against River Ridge. The Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Royal Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Springstead heads in on the heels of a playoff match on Wednesday. They fell 9-6 to River Ridge.

For River Ridge's part, Carson Cooley looked comfortable as he tossed 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Jager Golden, who went 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Hagen Conner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

River Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

River Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Springstead, their loss dropped their record down to 17-12.
